Start with safety and visibility
Move to the safest shoulder you can reach, turn on hazard lights, and stay inside with your seat belt fastened if traffic is moving quickly. At night, keep cabin lights low and avoid standing between your vehicle and traffic.
- Pull as far off the roadway as possible.
- Turn on hazard lights and use reflective triangles if you have them.
- Stay alert to approaching traffic and keep passengers calm.
Share your location clearly
Dispatch is faster when we know your exact location. Look for mile markers, nearby exits, or well-known landmarks. If you have a smartphone, enable location sharing or read the cross street from your map.
What ARS needs on the call
- Vehicle type, color, and any distinguishing details.
- Your location on I-44 or the closest exit or cross street.
- The issue: lockout, battery, flat tire, or fuel delivery.
